On 12/16/96 I posted the following mesage:

A couple of weeks ago I posted a message informing the list that CSICOP and
Skeptical Inquirer magazine Founder and Chairman Paul Kurtz had undergone
open-heart surgery. The operation was performed on December 4. According to
his doctors the operation went very well and he came out of it in very good
condition. We were told that he would be out of the hospital in 5-6 days.

I wanted to update you on his condition. It is now almost two-weeks since the
surgery and Paul still hasn't been released from the hospital. We are not
sure when that will be. Paul has told me that he is feeling well and that the
doctors are running additional tests and being very cautious.

**************************************************************************

I am pleased to report that Paul has been released from the hospital and is
recuperating at home. He won't be able to come into the CSICOP/Skeptical
Inquirer office for the next several weeks under threat from his doctors.
(Now if we could just get the phone away from him!).
